Welcome to Magpie Design’s blog. I am Deb Poole, the creator whom the mapgie inspires. My work involves many media but finds form in journals, albums, books and paper treasure boxes. Most of the pieces are constructed out of bookboard or Davey board, combined with paper from many sources (I collect like the magpie!) and beads, baubles, ribbons and sometimes tiny teacups! Classic forms and techniques from Japan and Europe serve as the foundation for the forms, but my inspiration comes from nature, my childhood, books, anything tiny and shopping at antique and second hand stores.

Hey Deb!
My sister and I met you in Telluride Co along with your sister.
I bought 2 of your boxes and am so delighted to see your website!!!
I bought one of the clamshell(?) boxes for a friend’s birthday and she loved it! She is very talented too and was delighted to see your work! I’m going to give her your info if you don’t mind. I hope to be buying some more gifts from you soon, I’ll stay in touch.
Again, it was so nice to meet the 2 of you and I wish you much success!
